about us

Welcome to Myrtle and Maudes! A unique farm market located in Williamsburg Michigan on Orchard View Farms ~ a fourth-generation cherry and apple farm!

Our History:

The first cherry trees on the farm were planted by Bill and Marcella Butler in the early 1940s. What started as a hobby farm, quickly expanded to a line of work with the purchase of more land by their daughter Roseanne and son-in-law, Keith Hubbell in 1964. Through the next several decades, Keith and Roseanne raised their five children on the farm; planting more trees with each passing season. Keith’s youngest son Paul was captivated by the farm life and once grown and married he and his wife, Sue Hubbell became co-owners of the farm along with Keith & Roseanne. Paul and his father further grew the farm with the purchase of more land and the planting of the first apple trees in the late 1980’s. Paul and Sue continued the family business while raising three daughters and one son. In 2017, Paul and Sue became sole owners of Orchard View Farms which now encompasses 250 acres of cherries and 50 acres of apples. Their youngest son, Weston, also passionate for the farm life, continued the tradition and he and Paul currently run the 300-acre farm.

The Market:

Sue and her middle daughter Sadie, better known as Myrtle (Sadie), and Maude (Sue), have always cherished their small-town farm life. Although both worked professional careers as registered nurses, they always managed to have a creative outlet. A “side-gig” that allowed them to create, design, sell, and utilize their passion for all things vintage and unique. In 2021 the two decided to make their long-term vision a reality. They had dreamed of owning a market for years and with the cherry industry and small-town farming, in general, at a major turning point, supplementation to traditional farming seemed vital to the survival of Orchard View Farms.

Myrtle and Maudes is unlike most traditional farm markets. Ran by the mother and daughter duo, the market features not only their homegrown produce, traditional baked goods, and ice cream treats, but also, Michigan made products, locally crafted gifts, antiques, redesigned furniture, and vintage décor. Their ultimate goal is to share through social media and educate the local community and tourists while allowing them to see firsthand where the cherry on top of their Sunday comes from.

The close-knit family has expanded from their four children to nine grandchildren; six boys and three little girls. The family’s plan is to continue to grow, to promote and offer new opportunities on the farm for the public to enjoy! Come take an educational wagon ride through the orchards with Farmer Paul, purchase the perfect gift, enjoy a unique ice-cream treat topped with a homegrown cherry, let the kids run and play, and meet sweet Patsy Cline and Merle Haggard, the mini highland cow and goat! Always something new and fun to explore, with a memorable day to be made at Myrtle and Maudes!

Stopped on Sunday to pick up small pumpkins for my preschool students. I purchased donuts. I also bought a pumpkin pie. It was very delicious and had the best crust I have eaten in years. The lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and kind.
